Cefn Coed RFC v Llandaff RFC

Cefn Coed RFC  17 pts v Llandaff RFC 10 pts

Cefn entertained Llandaff at Merthyr RFCs ground. The Wolves started the match in entertaining fashion and soon scored a converted try under the posts after a fine charging run by Daryl Rooney. This try was quickly followed by another wide out which went unconverted. Cefn were now dominating proceedings and added a third unconverted try through Nathan Jones to lead by 17 pts to nil at half time.

Cefn supporters were expecting the recording of a bonus point but Llandaff had other ideas and stormed back scoring two unconverted tries before being camped in the Cefn 22 metre area during the final minutes of the game. Dogged defence kept the visitors out as the home side recorded their third victory in a row.

Cefn finished the first month of 2018 recording 3 wins against Llandaff North, Old Iltydians and Llandaff RFC and suffering only one narrow defeat to Taffs Well. The 3 wins, gathering 13 points has helped to secure their mid table place in East Central League 3A.
